The eyes are the window to the soul. And eye contact is the most direct way to see in. People fall in love when they lock eyes at the right moment, in the right room, in the right life. “Don’t Stare” then asks: With so much sustained eye contact, can we fall in love with the Screen? Does the Screen love us back? As we let the Screen learn more about us, do we become more dependent on the Screen? Is our relationship with the Screen healthy? Or even potentially abusive? Or did I just try to make a philosophical statement out of an arbitrary choice of sample in order to make some kind of contrived point? These questions will have different answers for each of us. It’s up to us to decide.
